My Story
Southern Belle Food Truck is a vision come to life by Chef/Owner Shakiva Robinson aka Chef Kiva. She developed a love for cooking at a very young age from witnessing how food always brought her family together for love and laughter. Chef Kiva is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Food Service Management. She spent 15 years prior to opening Southern Belle Food Truck honing her craft in restaurant and hotel kitchens doing banquets and weddings for as many as 2,000 guests; catering private dinners for elected officials; preparing meals for NFL and NBA teams; and creating and preparing upscale meals at a country club restaurant.
The Southern Belle Food Truck menu reflects her love for southern cuisine. It also highlights some of the flavor profiles that Chef Kiva developed from her travels working in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, and Massachusetts. Her passion for food and pleasing others through food is evident in the meals that she prepares on Southern Belle Food Truck. “The secret ingredient is always love” at Southern Belle Food Truck and Chef Kiva’s goal is for the customers to experience that love in every bite and share that love with others.
